This privacy notice will inform you as to how we look after your personal data when you subscribe to receive our email newsletter, EEF News Alert, our email series, or other email services provided by the EEF. This page should be read in conjunction with the notice above, ‘Privacy notice – information that we need to tell everyone’, which covers information relevant to anyone whose data is used by the EEF, including your rights.
The purpose for collecting your data is so we can keep you informed about our news, resources, and events.
The lawful basis we rely on for processing your personal data is your consent under article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR.
We collect your name and email address so that we can send you our email newsletter. We also request limited work information, such as job title and institution, to help us understand who is interested in receiving emails from the EEF so we can ensure the content is relevant.
Our email newsletter is an ongoing publication. Data for time-limited EEF email series will be retained unless and until you withdraw your consent – this is to enable us to contact you when we publish further supporting resources which may be of interest and direct relevance to subscribers; and/or when we update the guidance.
We rely on your consent to process the personal data you provide to us for marketing purposes. This means you have the right to withdraw your consent, or to object to the processing of your personal data for this purpose at any time. If you do that, we’ll update our records immediately to reflect your wishes.
For more information on your rights, please see ‘Your rights’ under ‘Privacy notice – information that we need to tell everyone’.
