Privacy notice for those responding to EEF surveys

This privacy notice will inform you as to how we look after your personal data when you respond to any EEF surveys using SurveyMonkey. This page should be read in conjunction with the notice above, Privacy notice – information that we need to tell everyone’, which covers information relevant to anyone whose data is used by the EEF, including your rights.

The purpose for collecting your data is to enable us to better understand the views of teachers and senior leaders working in schools, nurseries and colleges; along with other EEF stakeholders, such as research teams.

We may also use contact details to send communications that promote EEF’s aims and services. We will inform you when we wish to use your data for this purpose and collect your explicit consent where required, which can be withdrawn at any time.

The GDPR lawful basis we rely on to process your personal data is legitimate interests (GDPR Article 6[1][f]). These interests are as per the above purposes.

What information we collect will vary according to the survey. Some can be completed anonymously, with no personal information collected. Others will request name and email address so that we can follow up if necessary. We may also request limited work information, such as job title and institution, to help us understand who is completing EEF surveys.

The surveys held by EEF will be reviewed annually. Those that are no longer required to meet the purposes stated in this notice will be destroyed.

We use SurveyMonkey to collect respondents’ data (see Survey Monkey privacy policy). SurveyMonkey stores this data in the US and we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) to justify transferring the data overseas. Please contact EEF if you wish to receive a copy of the SCCs.
